A powerful wave of public sentiment is sweeping across Nigeria as citizens from all walks of life are calling for the return of former President Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan to lead the nation once again in 2027.


Under the trending hashtags #BringBackGoodluck2027, 

#RestoreNigeriaWithGEJ2027, and #GoodluckForPeaceAndProgressWithGEJ2027, Nigerians across social media platforms are demanding a restoration of the nation’s economic stability, democratic integrity, and unity that many say characterized the Jonathan era.


According to the emerging Goodluck 2027 Presidential Movement, the call is not just political, it is patriotic. The movement describes Dr. Jonathan as “a symbol of peace, a man of vision, and a father of democracy.”


Supporters argue that during Jonathan’s leadership between 2010 and 2015, Nigeria witnessed relative economic growth, improved education, infrastructural expansion, steady electricity supply, and a stronger image in the international community.


> “When Goodluck led, Nigeria had hope. We had jobs, stability, and peace. The difference is clear,” said Mrs. Funke Olatunji, a Lagos-based entrepreneur who joined the campaign online.


Political analysts also note that Jonathan’s leadership style was characterized by tolerance, diplomacy, and respect for democratic values, qualities that many say are missing in today’s political climate.


Amid economic hardships, rising insecurity, and growing public dissatisfaction, citizens are increasingly nostalgic for the period of national calm and development that marked the former president’s tenure.


The Goodluck 2027 Campaign Movement has described its mission as one to “restore Nigeria’s lost glory through experience, humility, and wisdom.” The group insists that Jonathan’s comeback would not be about ambition but about “a rescue mission for a nation in distress.”


Dr. Jonathan, who has so far remained silent on his political intentions, is now at the center of a massive nationwide conversation. Observers believe that if he chooses to contest, his return could redefine the 2027 presidential race.


> “He is the bridge between the old and the new Nigeria,” says Chief Innocent Okorie, a political commentator from Enugu. “His return could bring back a leadership that listens and governs with fairness.”


As the movement gains momentum, thousands of Nigerians have begun organizing rallies, online campaigns, and public discussions under the unifying slogan:

“One Last Term to Restore Nigeria’s Hope with GEJ 2027.”


The public’s message is clear and resounding: “NIGERIA NEEDS GOODLUCK AGAIN 2027”
